About this app

Cyla tracks your menstrual cycle without asking for anything in return.

No account required. You can use the app for months without ever giving your address: your periods, symptoms, and notes remain encrypted on your phone. An account is only used to retrieve your history if you change devices, and you choose when to create it.

WHAT YOU SEE

• Where you are today: day of your cycle, phase, and what's coming
• A calendar that distinguishes between observed and estimated results—solid for your recorded period, dotted for a forecast
• A range rather than a single date: "around the 29th, between the 27th and the 1st" is accurate, "the 29th" isn't
• Forecasts that improve as you track your actual cycles, instead of simply repeating the length you initially reported

WHAT YOU RECORD

• Flow, mood, sleep, discharge, sexual activity
• Eight common symptoms: cramps, headache, fatigue, bloating, breast tenderness, backache, acne, nausea
• Personal, numbered notes that never leave the device and are never shared

WHAT YOU UNDERSTAND

• Average cycle length, amplitude, regularity
• Symptoms which periods recur, and at what point in your cycle
• A visual health report, with your most frequently noted numbers and symptoms, to show to a healthcare professional — your personal notes are not included

DISCREEN REMINDERS

A phone can be shared, placed on a table, turned on in front of someone.

Discreet mode replaces notification text with a neutral message: nothing on the lock screen mentions your period, fertility, or symptoms. You choose each reminder separately, and you can choose to disable all of them.

YOUR DATA IS YOURS

• No health data sold or shared with advertisers
• Encryption on the device, and server-side encryption of notes if you create an account

• Complete export to a readable file at any time
• Permanent deletion of the account and data from the app
• Usage statistics are disabled by default, and no health data is included
