It associates itself with various files, including some Power Point formats, which is not acceptable! This bug is reported since more than 3 years and no correction has been done, so the app is handled by people who don't have to care about user's experience... Interesting! Then, after passing successfully all steps (I do have a valid eduroam account) it simply connects me to another local net, not eduroam...

Update: once configured, you can uninstall the app. Good job and thank you. Old: Eduroam is working now, but why this this app interfering with literally anything else? Calling, messaging, opening document - always is this app coming up to offer its "service". And why is it, that once uninstalled, the wifi profile is gone? Why do I constantly need an app to connect to wifi. Once configured, it should stay!

The App needs to remain installed because of limitations set by Android; there's little we can do about that. There is an option for Android 12 that will allow us to create a network that persists, however there are other advantages in keeping the App installed: for instance a reminder about the renewal of your credentials. You could join the beta.

The number of chicken-n-egg scenarios that are built into this whole eduroam way of doing things is mind boggling. You need an internet connection to download an app, for the app to load institutions, to connect to your university help page if things don't work, and so on. All this for a supposed convenience. At the end it still doesnt work on Android 11. Android goes between "connecting" and "saved", without bothering to say what exactly went wrong).
