At 11 PM it says "Just one." Harness is built for that minute: a clean clock for the days, something to do in the minutes the urge lasts, and a coach that answers in words when the pull is loudest.
Most quit apps give you a number that drops to zero after a slip and nothing for the evening before. Harness starts from the urge. It rises, it peaks, and it passes on its own within a few minutes, as long as you do not feed it. The tools are for those few minutes.
It works for alcohol, nicotine, porn, weed, sugar, gambling, doomscrolling, or a vice you name yourself.
Harness is a sobriety tracker and a set of tools. It is not treatment, and it does not replace a doctor or a therapist.
THE PARTS
- Clean: the clock runs from your last drink, smoke or scroll, hour by hour, past the milestones at one day, one week, one month and one year.
- Steady: the tools for the wave. Ride the urge with a timed breath light, play the tape forward past the first five minutes, ground yourself with 5-4-3-2-1, read your own reasons, or open your emergency plan.
- Patterns: log each urge in a few taps and see the hour, the trigger and the mood it keeps landing on.
- Climb: the money you have kept, your calendar, and what your body is repairing at 20 minutes, 3 days, 2 weeks and 1 year, dated from your own clock.
- Resolve: a slip resets the clock and keeps the log, so the run before it is still there to read. Set a reminder for the hour it usually starts, and share a code with one person who gets to see your streak.
WHAT IS FREE
The clean clock, the tools in Steady, the urge log with its charts, the reminder, the partner code and the reset are free, with no ads. Those stay free on day one, day thirty and day three hundred.
HARNESS PRO
- The coach: when the pull is at its loudest, the coach talks you through it, step by step, until the wave falls. Its lines are written out in advance for your vice and your reason, so it works offline. The first session is free.
- The read: every week, from your own log, the hour, the trigger and the mood it picks most often.
- The debrief: after a slip, what opened the door and the one change to make before the next evening.
- The second clock: a second vice with its own clock, its own log and its own read.
- The full body timeline in Climb, a toolkit you arrange in your own order, and a card with your days to post or send.
PRIVACY
Your clock, your log and your notes stay on your phone, with no account. The partner code shares your streak with the one person you gave it to, and nothing else. The app sends anonymous usage counts so we can see which screens work.
If you are in crisis, or stopping is making you physically ill, talk to a doctor or call a local helpline. Harness is for the urge, not for withdrawal.
The first session with the coach is free, so you hear it answer once before anything costs money.
Clean clock, help for the few minutes an urge lasts, and a coach at the peak.
