ABOUT YOUR EARS AND YOUR GEAR
Phone speakers roll off badly at the very top of the range, so headphones give a truer reading. Set a comfortable volume before you start and leave it there for the whole test, because changing it partway makes the result meaningless.
High frequencies at high volume can damage hearing. Turn it down the moment anything feels uncomfortable, and keep sessions short.
The hearing test is a rough guide based on widely quoted age related thresholds, not clinical audiometry. It is a good way to find where your top end sits and to watch whether it moves over time.
