About this app

Our learning flow is built by the HyperLingua team, drawing on established language learning principles including natural language acquisition techniques.

The focus is on practical, real-world communication rather than grammar-heavy study: build vocabulary first, train pronunciation by listening and repeating, and reinforce memory through active recall.

Practical over theoretical
Focus on real-world communication — not grammar worksheets.

Vocabulary Comes First
The foundation for fluency is vocabulary, not grammar. Aim to learn at least 30 new words a day using mnemonic associations. This is the element with the greatest impact on your progress.

Pronunciation Is Critical
You must learn to recognize words and produce them accurately. Daily listening and repeating drills are essential for developing good pronunciation and rhythm.

Grammar Is Absorbed, Not Studied
Grammar is learned by seeing correct sentences in context and using them, instead of drilling rules. Grammar "comes with" massive input and output.

Active Recall + Retrieval Practice
The single most powerful exercise is active recall with retrieval practice. Translate sentences aloud from your native language into the target language, check corrections, and repeat until you make nearly no mistakes.

Shadowing & Repetition
Listening and repeating (shadowing) is the optimal method for improving fluency and pronunciation. Listen to native audio and repeat entire sentences aloud, matching the native speaker's cadence and intonation. Do 5 minutes a day minimum (10-15 minutes ideal).

For everyone
40+ languages, completely free, built for self-learners worldwide.

no gamification, just an thorough adult way to learn and practice a new language through useful sentences, speaking repetition and active recall. hard work and dedication is needed but this app is great way to keep you on track and provides very helpful progress markers that visualise the effort you're putting in. no loot boxes or Pixie dust childlike addictions needed. An adult app for serious learners. game changer for me

So far, so good. I like the interface, no shiny useless things, yet modern to keep you engaged. About the materials... Both the "Language Islands" and the "Vocabulary Builder" are very well put together, can't wait to explore more. Estoy seguro que pronto voy a mejorar mi 🇪🇦. Me vuelvo en unos meses con una nueva reseña. ¡Muchas gracias!

This is exactly what I needed. Simple, practical, and easy to use. HyperLingua makes language learning feel much less overwhelming.
