About this app

koedesk turns your Android keyboard into a voice-powered text input. Tap the mic, speak, tap again — your words appear instantly in any app — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Slack, Mail, Notes, anywhere you can type.

KEY FEATURES

• Universal voice keyboard
Replace the system keyboard. Works in every Android app — chat with AI agents, draft emails, jot ideas, search the web. No copy-paste needed.

• Floating mic bubble
Optional overlay bubble that lets you record from any app context, even outside text fields. Powered by Android's Accessibility Service for precise text insertion.

• World-class accuracy
Powered by ElevenLabs Scribe v2 — ranked #2 of all models on the third-party AA-WER English benchmark (2.2% WER). Accuracy measured and published across 12 languages at koedesk.app/en/benchmark/.

• 36 languages, auto-detected
Japanese, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Vietnamese, and more. The keyboard reads your locale settings — no language switching needed.

• Built for AI agents
Optimized for natural conversation with Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. Keyterms support lets you feed product names, codebases, and proper nouns for even higher accuracy. Filler words (um, uh) are auto-cleaned.

• Custom dictionary
Add specialized terms, project names, jargon — koedesk learns and adapts.

PRICING

• Free — 5 minutes per day, full Scribe v2 quality, no credit card required.
• Pro — Unlimited transcription. Subscribe inside the app through Google Play billing, and cancel anytime in Google Play.

PRIVACY FIRST

Your audio is processed transiently. We never store voice recordings. Account deletion is one tap away — Settings → Account → Delete Account.

ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE USAGE

koedesk uses Android's Accessibility Service for two purposes:
1. Inserting transcribed text into the focused text field when the floating mic bubble is used outside the standard keyboard context.
2. Detecting input field type (e.g., password fields) so that voice input can be disabled in sensitive contexts for user safety.

The Accessibility Service is NOT used to read screen content for any other purpose, send data off-device, or interact with apps beyond text insertion.

WHO IS IT FOR

• Developers using AI agents in their workflow
• Writers drafting on Android
• Users with motor impairments or RSI who benefit from voice input
• Bilingual users tired of switching between language keyboards

What’s new

If you use TalkBack, the keyboard now says what it is when it opens. It had no name of its own, so TalkBack read out a label from whatever app you were in instead — which meant there was no reliable signal that the field was ready for you to speak into. Thank you to the reader who wrote in and told us.
