About this app

Chatmend is a messenger for people learning the same language — couples, friends, family, study partners — who want to practise it by actually talking to each other. An AI coach sits quietly inside the chat, catches the mistakes you can't see yourself, and explains them on the exact message you got wrong.

It's correction, not translation. Everyone understands what they're typing; the value is feedback on what you wrote, grounded in real conversations with people you care about.

HOW IT WORKS
• Message normally. Your message sends immediately, as written — the chat is never blocked.
• A beat later your bubble picks up a quiet marker:
– Clean: a light check. You nailed it.
– Nudge: correct, but a native would say it differently. A suggestion, not a failure.
– Error: the exact words underlined. Tap to see the fix.
• Tap any correction for the fixed version, a one-line reason for each change, and a "teach me more" button when you want the actual grammar.

PRACTISE TOGETHER
• 1:1 and group chats, all practising the same language.
• Native speakers can join uncorrected — mark a language as native and your messages are never coached, so a fluent friend or partner gives natural input while only the learners get feedback. Mixed-proficiency rooms just work.
• Choose the language your explanations are written in, so coaching meets you at your level.

PROGRESS THAT MEANS SOMETHING
• Accuracy that trends up over time — and a count of every mistake you've mended, which only ever grows. No streak to break: a correction is the point, not a penalty.
• Your recurring slips ranked by type, each with one-tap practice aimed at exactly what you keep getting wrong.
• Vocabulary harvested from your real conversations becomes your study list.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
Translators bridge people who don't share a language — not the case here. Drill apps are solo and synthetic. Chatmend lives inside a real relationship and real conversations: the feedback, the vocabulary, the patterns all come from language you genuinely used with someone you talk to every day. That's stickier and more memorable than any generic course.
