Solid map app. I like that I can use it offline.. that is, as long as you have maps downloaded, the world comes to you in 50-100mbs packets at a time. Which is not a con as much as a notion to be aware of. There is a trick to 'googling' addresses, and I've had some wild success in copy-pasting where I need to go. Works on about 60-70% of the cemeteries I need to visit for work. It does lack some minor optimization qualities to the norm, but the 'norm' (cabal) hates the world, so... 6/5!

Thanks! If our search can't find something that is present at OpenStreetMap.org, please let us know.

Things are improving with updates, but Android Auto support seems rough still. Searching for a location keeps resetting back to the main menu, so I have to start the route from the phone, then switch to the car. Navigation will then work fine, but if I change screens on the car and go back to the map, navigation breaks completely. Even the backup camera will cause navigation to break. I'm very happy to get away from Google Maps, so I'm hoping this continues to improve over time.

Thanks for the feedback! Can you please report these issues with a detailed steps on how to reproduce them on our GitHub (some issues may already be there, so please check all issues labelled with AndroidAuto)?

I use for offline backpacking / hiking/ mountain biking & love it! Excellent tool. Simple & easy to use. My only suggestion is that you really have to be zoomed in to "see" trails. I like how CalTopo shows more when zoomed out, but CalTopo is almost the opposite extreme. If there were some "trail resolve" slider to select upper limit on area viewable footprint trails are shown. UPDATED: enable "Outdoor Style" via topLeft button <3

Did you try to enable the outdoor style by clicking the top left button? And why 4 stars for a free project created by volunteers?
