You unlock your phone, open one app, and hand it to a small, curious person. Then you watch — because one swipe lands them in your messages, one tap sends a half-written email, and a long press deletes the album from the trip.
Pacifier is the calm version. Set it up once, and every hand-off after that takes three seconds.
HOW IT WORKS
• Pick a profile. Each child gets their own allowed apps, session length and battery floor.
• Hold to seal. Pacifier watches which app is in front and raises a shield over anything you didn't allow.
• Hand it over. When the time is up, a gentle wind-down ends the session. Your PIN unseals it.
BUILT FOR PARENTS, NOT ADVERTISERS
• No account, ever. No email, no sign-up.
• Fully offline. No cloud, no servers, nothing to sync. It works the same in airplane mode.
• Pacifier can't see your usage data. It checks which app is in front while a session runs — that's all, and only then. No browsing history, no contacts, no reports.
WHAT IT DOESN'T DO
We would rather say this up front than have you discover it later.
• The shield covers ordinary apps. It cannot cover parts of Android's own system settings — no consumer app can.
• Android has no equivalent of a parent-controlled kiosk lock. If you want your child stuck in exactly one app, seal first, then pin that app from Recents yourself. That's an Android feature, and no app can switch it on for you.
• A determined older child who knows your PIN can end a session. The PIN is the lock — pick one they won't guess.
PERMISSIONS, AND WHY
• Usage access: to see which app is in the foreground during a session. This is how the seal knows what to shield.
• Display over other apps: to draw the shield itself.
Both are only used while a session is running.
