About this app

ResQDocs helps emergency medical personnel prepare incident reports quickly and systematically on their smartphones – and transfers the finished text directly to their existing documentation system without using the cloud.

THE PROBLEM

Documentation at the scene often involves cumbersome on-screen keyboards on tablets. This is time-consuming and leads to incomplete documentation. ResQDocs conveniently prepares the report on the smartphone and then automatically "types" it to the target device via a local USB bridge – without any software installation on the target system or an internet connection.

WHO IS IT FOR?

ResQDocs is designed exclusively for medical professionals in emergency medical services (paramedics, emergency physicians) who are familiar with standard scoring systems and procedures. It is not a tool for laypersons or for self-diagnosis.

ResQDocs FEATURES

• Structured protocol capture: Findings in a three-status system (confirmed / deviant / not recorded), fields, optional blocks, and variables – with a live preview of the finished plain text.

• Custom templates: Create, duplicate, edit, and export/import protocol templates as JSON. Automatic saving.

• On-site calculation aids: NEWS2, LAMS, BMI, Pack-Years, and ECG axis type – based on published tables, with manual input. Plus ECG reference with reference values.

• Medication plan scanner: Data Matrix codes on medication plans (BMPs) are read natively and quickly – only the medication and dosage are captured, not patient data.

• Package scanner: Scan barcodes on medication packages and capture the German Pharmaceutical Registration Number (PZN).

• Personal Medication Library: A user-maintained, local collection with PZN (German pharmaceutical registration number), active ingredient, name, and category – searchable, with backup as a compressed file.

• Hardware Bridge (Pico): Connects to the bridge via its own local Wi-Fi network. The bridge then enters text into the target device using a USB keyboard – with a selectable target operating system for correct umlauts. Firmware updates are performed directly from the app.

DATA PROTECTION

• Patient and operational data are only temporarily stored in memory and never permanently saved. A temporary draft is automatically deleted after a user-defined period.

• Only neutral structures (templates, library, settings) are permanently stored – locally on the device.

• No telemetry, no tracking, no advertising, no cloud account. The only network connection is the local bridge on your own Wi-Fi network.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

ResQDocs is not a medical device and does not replace a medical assessment. The app does not make diagnoses, calculate dosages, or provide treatment recommendations. The scoring functions are purely computational aids based on published tables; the medication plan scan is simply a transcription. The user bears full responsibility for all medical decisions and the accuracy of the documentation. Acceptance of the terms of use is required before first use and after each update.

ResQDocs is an open-source project.
