Seatt is a dating app with one mechanic: you post a real plan with exactly one seat open, and somebody asks for it.
You are already going somewhere on Thursday. Put it up with one chair free, read what people say when they ask to come, and pick one person. That is the date sorted.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Post it. A real place, a set time, one seat. The venue has to be public, and that is checked on the server before your plan goes up.
2. People ask. They write a line about why they want to come, and you can ask them a question back.
3. You pick one. The seat locks, the plan drops out of the feed, and the chat opens.
YOU CHOOSE ON WHAT THEY SAID
Requests arrive with the photo blurred. You see a name and the line somebody wrote, not their face, until you pick them. It turns out "what are you drinking" tells you more than a grid of photos does.
ONE SEAT MEANS ONE YES
There is no shortlist. Once somebody is in, the plan is gone, so nothing is gained by keeping ten conversations going. Messaging opens only after you have picked, so there is no opener to write into the void and no threads with people you will never meet.
NO PLAN YET?
Say what you are open to instead. Dinner on Thursday, coffee on Sunday. Somebody else makes the plan and you decide whether to take the seat.
BUILT AROUND SAFETY
Every plan is somewhere public: a bar, restaurant, cafe, park or venue. Homes and hotels are refused by the server, not just discouraged in the interface.
For two hours after a seat locks, either of you can step back with nothing on your record and no explanation owed.
Block someone and neither of you sees the other again, in either direction, and they are not told. Reports go to a person, not a queue nobody reads. Every plan has a share button that sends the venue and the time to a friend before you go.
Verifying your profile with a short selfie check is optional. It earns a badge and nothing is locked behind it. The video is deleted immediately and no government ID is ever requested.
BUILT TO BE LEFT
No streak. No feed that keeps going. Nothing that rewards opening the app more often than you actually have plans. Seatt has done its job when you are sitting across from somebody.
