About this app

Simple Pulse checks your heart rate with nothing but your phone. Cover the rear camera and flash with a fingertip, keep still, and about 35 seconds later you have your heart rate.

How it works
Each heartbeat pushes a little more blood into your fingertip, which changes its colour very slightly. Simple Pulse watches those changes through the camera, with the flash as a steady light, and turns them into beats per minute.

What you get
• Your heart rate in about 35 seconds, with the lowest and highest values of the reading
• Live feedback while measuring: a pulse wave, and hints if your finger moves or light leaks in
• A short vibration when the reading ends, so you know without looking
• Save a measurement with tags (after coffee, after exercise, resting…) and a note
• History of your saved measurements; edit tags and notes later, swipe to delete
• Light and dark themes

Private by design
Your measurements stay on your phone. They're never uploaded, and never seen by the ads in the app. There's no account to create. Export your measurements as a CSV file whenever you like.

Good to know
• Simple Pulse estimates your heart rate. It isn't a medical device and isn't meant to diagnose or treat any condition. If you're worried about your heart, talk to a doctor.
• Works best sitting down, relaxed and still, with your hand resting on a table.
• Needs a phone with a rear camera and flash.
• Contains ads (small ads in History only; never during a measurement).
Check your heart rate with your phone's camera. No watch or strap needed.
