About this app
TalkRidge is a private messenger built so that nobody, including us, can read what you send.
Every message, photo, voice note, file and call is encrypted on your device and decrypted only on your contact's device. There is no plaintext mode and no switch that turns encryption off.
NO ACCOUNT, NO PHONE NUMBER, NO EMAIL
Your identity is generated on your phone the first time you open the app. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to verify. You do not appear in any directory unless you decide to.
ADD CONTACTS BY SCANNING A CODE
You add someone by scanning their QR code in person, then checking that the security fingerprint shown on both phones matches. If you would rather be reachable, you can publish an optional username and remove it again whenever you like.
WHAT THE SERVER CAN SEE
Nothing you write. Our server is a blind mailbox: it accepts sealed ciphertext addressed to an anonymous mailbox, and hands it back to whoever proves with a signature that the mailbox is theirs. It holds no keys and can decrypt nothing. A delivered message is erased the moment your phone confirms receipt, and anything never collected is purged after 30 days.
MODERN CRYPTOGRAPHY
X25519 and post-quantum ML-KEM-768 key agreement, HKDF-SHA-256, and XChaCha20-Poly1305 authenticated encryption, running on a double ratchet that gives every single message its own key. Your private keys are generated on the device and held in the Android Keystore. They never leave your phone, and there is no key escrow.

There is no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no cross app tracking in this app. We have nothing to sell, because we hold nothing readable.
HONEST LIMITS
Delivery runs through our relay, so the relay can observe unavoidable metadata such as message sizes, timing, and which mailbox is polling. We keep that to a minimum and never sell it. We would rather tell you than hide it, and the app shows you a security fingerprint so you can confirm you are talking to the right person.
You can erase everything at any time from Settings, "Delete my identity and data". It wipes your identity from the phone, and your mailbox, push token and backup from our servers.
