About this app

With the tellows app, you can identify unknown calls and get helpful information about spam, advertising and scam calls. tellows is based on a large community where users rate phone numbers and share their experiences. This helps you better assess incoming calls before answering.

The ratings and comments come from other users and are continuously updated. You can look up unknown numbers, check the tellows score and add your own ratings to support other users.

How tellows works

📞 Caller identification
When your phone rings, tellows shows a risk assessment for the incoming call. The tellows score (from 1 – trustworthy to 9 – not trustworthy) helps you identify unwanted or potentially risky calls.

🔎 Look up unknown numbers
Search phone numbers and view ratings, comments and general information about the origin of the number, such as the country or network.

💬 Rate and comment on numbers
Rate phone numbers and share your experience with the tellows community. This helps improve the database and supports other users in assessing calls.

🚫 Call blocking and personal blacklist
In the free version, you can manually block calls using a local blacklist. In the Premium version, community-based ratings can additionally be used for automatic blocking. The local blocklist also works without an internet connection.

Ratings and reviews

Seems to be highly accurate. It doesn't block calls, (which is a benefit for me); instead a rating comes up based on previous user experiences with the phone number. You can read detailed info if a person leaves an in-depth review, which is very helpful. You also don't run the risk of a call being incorrectly blocked (ie a call responding to a job application). It's accurate and the user input adds the extra info that is beyond helpful. Highly recommended

Fantastic! This is exactly what I have been looking for! It automatically shows the name of the caller like a land line caller ID. It says "scam" whenever it's a # associated with a scam. It keeps a call history log too! The ads are not intrusive at all for the free version

I don't like to leave one star reviews but....I allowed all permissions when I started the app but when I looked at the call history, I did not recognize any number Tellows listed. When I looked at my actual phone history, it showed numbers I had dialed and numbers I had received. I uninstalled quickly. Why would Tellows have a totally inaccurate call history, especially since I allowed all permissions??
