This application allows the user to size residential, cylindrical or prismatic, pre-molded or masonry septic tanks and drains according to appropriate technical standards.
With a few clicks, you can find out the minimum width, length, diameter and height for these reservoirs in accordance with NBR 7229/93. It is designed to be used with the screen in landscape mode.
On the initial screen, you enter the data necessary for the calculations and the external dimensions you want for the reservoirs. It contains some minimum and important instructions for establishing dimensions. After everything is filled in, clicking on "CALCULATE", another screen appears indicating that the loaded data is OK and also demonstrating other possible parameters, depending on the type of reservoir, which are important in sizing. On this screen there are 4 buttons: SAVE, SHARE, DELETE and RECALCULATE. The first allows you to save the calculated data in a simple txt file (notepad) in the standard memory of the device where the app is being used or in the cloud. The user can choose the file name. The second button allows the user to share the data obtained somewhere such as Google Drive (you can choose a folder and txt file name), Gmail, Whatsapp or another social network or app installed on the device. The third button is to erase the calculated data displayed on the screen. You can choose to erase only one reservoir or both simultaneously. The last button is to return to the parameters screen to change some data. This last function can also be performed using the "Back" button on the device where the app is installed.
Returning to the home screen, there are three buttons in the top left corner. Clicking the INSTRUCTIONS button displays the app's instruction manual and other conceptual information related to sizing. The LANGUAGE button allows the user to choose between English, Spanish or Portuguese to apply to all texts in the application. The SCHEMES button will display structural diagrams showing important technical details of the different types of reservoirs that this app calculates to assist in their more accurate construction.
There are several alert messages informing the user when they have forgotten to do something important when using the app or when the information loaded is inappropriate. This helps a lot when using it.
The app was created to produce these types of reservoirs with a minimum size, saving material and finances, but ensuring their regular operation. During development, we had support from professor José Edson Martins Silva, who had the idea of creating the app.
