Certain translation left you guessing English to Tamil translation leave you left for words as you are not able to read tamil or hear the phonetics. Also vice versa as how are you going to type in tamil. Beat the whole purpose of translating

A real life saver A great app which is pretty accurate for short phrases. A great way to look up words you're not sure about. And lots of languages are supported. But am not a fan of the latest version of the app. It's much more awkward to switch between language s; that was easy in the previous version! Please make it simple to switch again!

Wow!!!!.....what a piece of crap this update is. The previous version was 10 times better. Why would you fix something that is not broken. It makes no sense.....anyway dont update to the new version....keep the old version instead. Fix microphone icon for spoken words instead of typing it. Get rid of languages that dont exist ....and nobody speaks "latin"....its spanish...i can go on and on.......

Very comprehesive, very fast Can handle anything from single word to inginitives, to phrases. Translations are literal, though and so this is not a travel phrasebook.

Not Helpful Only works if you are able to read the language you are trying to translate, so therefore not helpful e.g. translates Laos in native Laos symbolic text. Pointless.

It saved my life I was in the process of being eaten by an alligator, feet first obviously. I was able to pull out my phone turn on the translator talk to the locals and call in a Laser rocket and with one with Swift donkey punch I was able to save the world the future is a strange place

When I downloaded this app in 2014, I thought it was the best! However, after the September 1st 2015 update, it no longer translates as many words as it did previously. Why is Microsoft asking us to correct translation errors?

It was great!! They're right about the update, I hope it doesn't affect my trip in Dec. I have been to Costa Rica 4 times in 4 years and my Spanish isn't great so in a bar/restaurant I just type my question and show it to whomever. I think it's better than Google Translate.

No español for Mexico I live in Mexico and am learning Spanish. There is no language option for the Spanish (Latin America) spoken here in Mexico. There is only a Spain Spanish option. No one speaks that dialect here and so this app is not very helpful to me.

Something has changed I have used this app extensively for the last year or so and it has been very handy. However, it's recently been giving some wonky translations (I use mostly for Spanish). It seems I now spend my time comparing to other translation products and providing corrective feedback. Not very pleased and looking for a new alternative.

Ok but not entirely correct Does not translate everything correctly and only basic translation not full words. Also can only translate a small sentence for free!!

Great app I've tried other translators, such as Google, and they tend to take phrases too literal. This one gets it right. Though I wish you could slow down the spoken translation or change the speed until you get it down then have it speak at a normal speed. Maybe even change the voice. Was this app bought out by Microsoft?

It's ok. I speak three languages and compared translations with Google Translate. It was hit or miss which one gave the better translation. Why does iTranslate Voice have Cantonese, but not on this version? Back to Google comparison. iTranslate has romanization for Arabic where Google does not, but both have speech. Google has voice and romanization for many languages that iTranslate doesn't, making those languages almost useless since there's no speech or romanization, and you can't read the characters. With the exception of Arabic, right now Google Translate wins. Also, please add Cantonese to iTranslate!
