About this app

Lyd is a music player for the songs you already own — the ones sitting in your phone's storage, not a streaming catalog. No subscription, no account, no internet connection required. Point it at your music folder and it just plays.

YOUR LIBRARY, BROWSED YOUR WAY
Lyd scans your device once and organizes everything automatically:
• All Songs, with sorting by title, artist, album, date added, or duration
• Albums and Artists, with artwork pulled straight from your files
• Folders, for anyone who organizes music the old-fashioned way
• Fast search across titles, artists, and albums

PLAYLISTS AND FAVORITES
• Build playlists by picking individual songs or by selecting whole folders at once
• A permanent Favorites playlist, one tap from any song's menu
• A Recently Played row on the home screen so you can jump back into what you were listening to
• Reorder, rename, and manage playlists directly from the playlist screen

REAL BACKGROUND PLAYBACK
• Lock-screen and notification controls, so playback keeps going when you leave the app
• Proper audio focus handling — Lyd steps aside automatically when a call, another app, or another player needs the speaker, instead of talking over it
• Full queue control: play next, add to queue, drag to reorder, swipe to remove
• Shuffle, repeat (off/all/one), and a "smart" previous button that restarts the current track if you're a few seconds in, or jumps back if you just started it

TUNE YOUR SOUND
A real equalizer built on your device's own audio hardware — not a fake overlay:
• Bands and frequency range come from your phone, so you get exactly what it's capable of
• Presets: Balanced, Bass Boost, Smooth, Dynamic, Clear, and Treble Boost
• Drag any band by hand and Lyd switches to a Custom preset automatically

SLEEP TIMER
Set a countdown (5 to 90 minutes) or choose "stop at the end of this track" — either way, Lyd fades out playback on its own so you don't have to.

LYRICS
Lyd shows lyrics for a track by reading a matching .lrc file next to the song, or lyrics already embedded in the file's own tags. If they're time-stamped, the current line highlights and auto-scrolls as the track plays. No lyrics website, no lookup service — just your own files.

BUILT ON PRIVACY, NOT A PRIVACY POLICY
Lyd doesn't request internet access at all — there's no network permission in the app, which means there's no way for it to send your listening habits, your library, or anything else, anywhere. No analytics, no ads, no crash reporting, no accounts. Everything Lyd creates — playlists, favorites, cached artwork — stays in the app's own storage on your device, and disappears the moment you uninstall it.

Android Auto improvements:
• Fixed Lyd not showing up in the car's app/lens picker
• Tap a playlist to start playing it instantly
• Album art now shows in the car (browse list and Now Playing)
