Mimir is the Android TV client for Mimir, a media server you install and run yourself on Windows, macOS or Docker.
The server is where your channels come from. Point it at a network tuner such as an HDHomeRun or a VBox TV Gateway, or at an M3U playlist and XMLTV guide you are entitled to use, and it turns them into a tidy channel list, a full programme guide and a recording schedule. This app is the screen you watch all of it on.
It provides no content of its own, ships no channel list, and connects to nothing except the server you point it at.
REQUIRES THE MIMIR SERVER
This app does nothing on its own. Install the free Mimir server first, from https://objektiv.com.au/mimir/ - it runs on Windows, macOS and Docker. The app finds it on your network automatically and pairs with a code you approve in the server's own web interface.
SUBSCRIPTION
Mimir is free to download and requires a subscription to use. A free trial is included so you can try it against your own server before paying. The Mimir server itself is free and always will be.

PRIVACY
Mimir collects nothing. There is no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising. The only third-party code is Google Play's billing library, which handles the subscription - your purchase is with Google, not with us, and we hold no account for you. Mimir talks to your server and to nothing else. Your viewing never leaves your home network unless you deliberately configure remote access to your own server.
