Nikon Shutter Count is a simple, independent and unofficial tool for checking the camera model and shutter count stored in the metadata of supported Nikon JPEG photographs.

Select an original JPEG photograph copied directly from your camera. The app reads the available EXIF and Nikon MakerNote metadata and displays:

• Camera model
• Shutter count

Privacy and local processing

The selected photograph is processed entirely on your device. It is not uploaded or sent to a server or third party.

The app:

• Does not require an account
• Does not contain advertising
• Does not use analytics or tracking
• Does not request access to your entire photo gallery
• Accesses only the photograph you select through the Android system picker
• Does not modify the selected photograph

Important information

Shutter count availability depends on the metadata written by the camera. Edited, converted, downloaded or compressed photographs may no longer contain the required Nikon MakerNote information.

For the best result, use an original JPEG copied directly from the camera.

If the required information is missing, the app will clearly inform you that the shutter count could not be found.
