HOW STOP BETTING USES VPNSERVICE AND ACCESSIBILITY
• This app uses Android's VPNService to create a local VPN, a DNS filter that runs only on your device. This is how Stop Betting blocks betting sites in any browser or app, the app's core feature. The filter only sees DNS lookups, never the content of your traffic, and does not use your traffic for ads.
• This app uses the AccessibilityService API (accessibility service) to detect when a betting app, or a betting site in the browser address bar, is opened and close it, and to prevent protection from being turned off in Settings without your guardian. It reads only the name of the open app, the address in the browser bar and the title of Settings screens; it does not read page content or what you type outside the address bar. None of this leaves the device, except the record of the blocked attempt.
Both are turned on only with your consent, after an explanation in the app. Stop Betting is not an accessibility tool.
WHAT STOP BETTING DOES — FREE FOREVER, FOR EVERYONE
• Blocks Brazilian and international betting sites and apps, and keeps up with new mirror domains.
• Guardian: someone you trust holds the key to your protection. Only they can unlock it, and only after a reflection period.
• Monitoring with proof: if anyone tries to turn protection off, your guardian is notified, with what happened and when.
• Peer support community, with nicknames and moderation.
PROTECTION LEVELS (ALL FREE)
No app can promise "impossible to uninstall" for something you install yourself — that's a limit of Android.
• Shield: blocks known betting sites and apps and closes the screen when they open.
• Guardian Lock: adds the second person and the reflection period.
• Fortress (optional): the device becomes a managed device after a guided factory reset. The app explains the limits first.
