I had the wled app working but I recently tried to cange to a different effect and the app did not find my device. Since then, I have reinstalled wled on the esp32 I am using and still I cannot get it to find the device. I see many others have had similar issues. It was good when it worked. Oh, I also tried a new esp32 with same result. Very frustrating!!
I'm sorry you're having this issue. Here's a few step to maybe help you find a solution.
1) Check if the device is hidden ("Show hidden devices")
2) Check if the device have unique mDNS names in the WLED settings
3) Make sure you are on the same network
Have you tried adding the device to the app manually? These might help me find the bug!

I was running 3 esp8266 boards using an older version of wled. My 3 sections of house and yard holiday lights always worked great. After installing this updated version, my boards won't stay connected, I can't name them and when they do connect, I can't control my light strings. Very frustrating and I am disappointed. My boards are older but still, going from awesome effects to being shot down in flames blows chunks.

I'm really sorry the app caused these issues. Hopefully the latest update of the app improved your experience? I improved the connection stability
