Speed U is a hockey skill-development platform built for players, coaches, and instructors who want a clear, structured way to build real on-ice skills - and prove it.
TRACK YOUR SKILLS
Work through a full catalog of hockey skills across difficulty tiers, from beginner fundamentals to advanced moves. Every skill comes with an instructional video showing exactly how it's done.
SUBMIT VIDEOS, GET JUDGED BY THE COMMUNITY
Record your attempt right in the app and submit it for community judging. Once approved, you earn XP, build your streak, and climb the leaderboards.

Log your shooting practice, or use the AI-powered Shot Tracker (Coming soon) to automatically detect and classify your shots by type and placement as you shoot.
FOR COACHES AND INSTRUCTORS
Coaches can build a team roster, assign practice and programs, and run team-scoped judging. Instructors can verify skills, submit videos on behalf of students during lessons, and track a whole group's progress in one place.
CHALLENGES AND COMPETITION
Enter time-limited challenges, compete on hockey and gym leaderboards, and see how you stack up against the community - including a dedicated Rookie of the Week board for players just getting started.
BUILT FOR FAMILIES
Speed U supports players of all ages, including account creation by a parent or guardian for players under 13, with parental consent verified by email before any video can be submitted.
Free to browse and use for core skill tracking, judging, and leaderboards. A Pro or Platinum subscription (managed on speedu.ca) unlocks additional skill tiers, Practice and Programs, and the AI Shot Tracker.
