The NoA-Coach (No Addiction-Coach) is a free smartphone app to support people with alcohol problems. The app strengthens individual resources and helps you to change your high-risk alcohol consumption in the long term and prevent relapses.
A key element of the app is a chatbot in the form of a digital coach named Noa. There is no person behind the coach, but a computer program (chatbot). If you use the app regularly (two to five minutes a day), you will receive information and tips that are increasingly tailored to your personal situation. The app helps you if you want to reduce your alcohol consumption, stop drinking for a while and/or achieve other goals. You determine your goals and record, for example, how you would like to enjoy pleasant moments or act in difficult situations without falling into earlier drinking habits.
The App is not a substitute for any therapeutic or medical treatment and should not be viewed as such. Various specialist agencies provide their clients with the NoA Coach as free, additional support. You can find information on this at https://www.safezone.ch/de/noa-coach-suchtberatung.
The NoA-Coach was developed and evaluated by the Berner Gesundheit, the Blaues Kreuz Schweiz and the addiction specialist office in Zurich with scientific support from the Swiss Institute for Addiction and Health Research (ISGF). Since 2022, the NoA-Coach has been under the sponsorship of SafeZone.ch and is operated and distributed by Infodrog, the Swiss coordination and specialist office for addiction.
