About this app

CJKV Dict (中日韓越辭典) is a smart multilingual dictionary for learners of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese. It returns results in Chinese characters (漢字, called "Hànzì" in Mandarin Chinese, "Kanji" in Japanese, "Hanja" in Korean and "Hán tự" in Vietnamese) in all four languages, and automatically converts simplified Chinese characters and simplified Kanji (Shinjitai) to traditional Chinese characters.

Amazing app! Very slick-looking and user-friendly. I actually wanted to create a CJKV app like this (mainly to promote Nôm), but it seems you beat me to it. I really appreciate you including Vietnamese because it usually gets left out of the conversations regarding East Asia and Chinese characters. One thing I'd recommend though is to have examples, like a sentence per usage point if possible. If you ever need help with the Viet section, I'd be happy to help! (Sorry shameless plug)

Thanks a lot for your kind words and for your feedback. I'll look into adding example sentences in the future.

Excellent app! appreciate the effort you put in. suggestions: Give an option to display Chinese results in pinyin, since many users don't know zhuyin After searching an ambiguous query, give some way to display equivalents in the other languages without copy/pasting hanzi. e.g. if I search "kyoudai", since there is more than one result (兄弟、強大, etc.), it would be handy if I could click "兄弟" and get the results in Chinese as well. Add support for Japanese compounds with multiple readings (e.g. 昨日)

Thanks a lot for your feedback and sorry about the late reply. Chinese results can now be displayed in Pinyin through a dedicated option. Thanks for the suggestion about ambiguous queries (e.g. 兄弟 vs. 強大 when searching for "kyoudai"), I will think of a way to implement that feature. Alternative readings for Japanese (e.g. 昨日) are already supported.

Some functions and improvements that I wish would be added: - symbol next to word in search results to see whether I've added a word to bookmarks - making lists (+ flashcards) - handwriting search - dark mode - making the app more lightweight Thank you
