Shining Mask is a cool app to control LED display mask.It can change the display text and display effect in the app, provide various interesting animations and pictures to meet your desire for performance. The idea has decent bones, but needs work. This is the second bluetooth screen style device that I have used and I'm finding that it lacks the ability to control the timing of slides and upload gif images as a series of frames. If those two features and reliability were improved it would be on par with other led display type devices while not quite being at the same level as Nyan Gear.

Love the mask! Although there are a few small issues I have. For one, I've noticed that similar images (like different facial expressions on the same character) aren't distinguishable enough for the system to differentiate and all the faces show up as the same one picture. I think the music visualizer could be a little more sensitive to sound so it's more colorful. And I'd love it if I could add my own animated gifs as faces. Thank you!

The app requires your phone to stay unlocked and open. If you lock your phone, within a few seconds the image on the mask will disappear. You have to walk around with your phone open. This is pretty much a major failure, making it too inconvenient to use. Another technical issue is that you can only upload still images. It obviously can play animations, but other than specifying some text to scroll across, you can't create any.
