Waky is an alarm clock that asks for something back.
Every other alarm ends with a tap you can do in your sleep — because you have done it in your sleep. Waky ends with a mission: a small task you cannot finish unconscious.
EIGHT WAYS TO PROVE YOU ARE AWAKE
• Mental math — for people who cannot fake arithmetic at six in the morning
• A typed code — for the ones who would solve the math in their sleep
• A shake — for the mornings that need you on your feet
• Push-ups — counted by the camera, so you have to actually do them
• Squats — the same, when getting out of bed is not enough
• Make your bed — and photograph it before the alarm believes you
• Step outside — or at least point the camera at a window
• Find something — a kettle, a toothbrush, a shoe, wherever it happens to be
WHAT THE CAMERA DOES, AND WHAT IT DOESN'T
Push-ups and squats are counted entirely on your device. Nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded, and no frame ever leaves your phone.
Photo missions are the one exception, and we would rather say it plainly than bury it. The single photo you take is sent to be checked, used once to answer one yes-or-no question, and discarded. It is never stored, never saved to your photo library, and never attached to your account.
Difficulty is set per alarm. A harder mission for the days that matter, something gentler for the weekend.
IT COMES BACK
Tap stop and the alarm returns in seconds. Ignore it and it returns anyway. The mission is the off switch, and nothing else ends the morning.
To be straight with you: Waky is a commitment device, not a lock — you can always switch your phone off. It makes snoozing hard, never impossible, and the streak is what makes skipping cost something.
THE STREAK KEEPS THE SCORE
Every earned wake-up adds a day. Miss one and the count goes back to zero. One early morning is willpower; thirty in a row is a habit, and the difference is having something to lose.
IT RINGS WHETHER OR NOT THE INTERNET DOES
Alarms are scheduled by your phone, not by our servers, so aeroplane mode and dead wifi make no difference to 6:30am. Your streak syncs when there is a signal; the ringing never waits for one.
A NOTE ON PERMISSIONS
Waky asks to post notifications because that is what lets the alarm put its screen in front of you — without it the alarm still makes noise, but there is no way to reach the mission. It also asks to run in the background so your phone cannot quietly kill an alarm you are relying on.
NO ADVERTS
Waky has no adverts, on the free plan or the paid ones. An advert in an alarm clock is a punishment for waking up.
FREE TO START
One alarm and the basic missions, free, with no trial clock running out. Paying unlocks unlimited alarms, the camera missions, every difficulty, and strict mode.
Please do not rely on Waky as your only alarm for anything where being late has serious consequences — a flight, an exam, medication, a shift where safety depends on you. Any alarm on any phone can be defeated by a flat battery, silent mode, or a system fault. Use a second, independent alarm for those mornings.
