Windy.app - wind, waves and weather forecast app for surfers, kitesurfers, windsurfers, sailors, fishermen and other wind sports.

Your weather app is great for wind but absolutely horrible for rain. Zero rain maps or any type of precipitation. I know the wind and temperature.... that's it. I got suckered into a pro subscription which IS NOT WORTH IT. 💩 It rained today and this app didn't even register it....chew on that for a minute. If you want to fly a kite or want to go sailing m..this app may provide valid information.

Although not listed on the description page, you must sign up and pay to use this app. The app doesn't tell you this until it plays 20 questions about your hobbies and lifestyle, then tells you to either subscribe to a paid plan or do a "free trial" that then signs you up for a paid subscription. I'm sure the app itself is decent, but I was immediately turned off by the mass of questions (data mining) that led to wanting my money. I never tried it because of this.

I just had an issue with the app, which was not allowing me to use the pro options. I sent an email, and literally 2 minutes later, they manually fixed it and emailed me back with a note to restart my app. Best customer service I have ever had. Maybe it was luck, but I've always been impressed with the app, and now I'm impressed with the customer service.

What's new

EXP3 and Traffic Saver Mode

You can now view the EXP3 model 10-day hyperlocal coastal forecast on the map! The model captures local weather effects, giving better forecast accuracy.

As for the Traffic Saver Mode, it’s useful for three things:

- Smooth data downloads when the internet connection is poor
- Optimal use of internet traffic
- Saving money when roaming

Head to the map, activate them in the settings and give them a try!
