Every piece is already in front of you, and all of them fit. Take one, slide it into the shape: it fits when each of its squares lands on empty ground. Block Puzzle: Mystery Island is a free puzzle game where you fill a drawing, not a grid.
NOTHING IS FINAL
A piece you have placed is not played forever. You pick it up with one finger, you slide it somewhere else inside the shape, or you send it back to the rack. This is not a game where blocks fall and one bad move ruins the round: it is a cut-up drawing to put back together, and you are allowed to change your mind.
THE PUZZLE IS THE ARRANGEMENT
Three blocks in the first level, up to twenty-five in the densest. They do not rotate: a piece is known by its shape. The work is not aiming well, it is working out which piece belongs in which hollow — and the big ones go down before the small ones, or all you are left with is single-square holes.
THE BOARD IS A DRAWING
The area to fill is not a rectangle, it is a silhouette. A raft, a bottle, a star, a crab, a sailboat, a lantern. Further on the shapes turn ornamental — a shell, a wave, a compass, a chequerboard. Ten in all, and you see the drawing before you have placed anything: the empty squares already cut it out.
SIX CUT STONES
On the island's branches the pieces become gems: amber, emerald, ruby, sapphire, amethyst, citrine. Six colours, but also six different cuts — so a piece stays recognisable even for someone who struggles to tell two neighbouring shades apart.
THE LEVELS ARE BUILT BACKWARDS
Each silhouette is cut up first, and the pieces of that cut are what you are handed. A level therefore always has at least one solution, and that is the one the hint shows you — not a spot where the piece would happen to fit.
YOU CANNOT LOSE
No hearts, no timer, no move that ruins the board. It is a brain puzzle you play at your own pace. A piece dropped off target goes back to the rack and costs nothing. You do not lose a round: you have simply not finished it yet.
UNDO IS FREE
Three aids at the bottom of the screen, from the very first level. Undo costs nothing — taking a piece back is already an ordinary move in this game. Restart is free too. Only the hint is paid for, and it shows you where the piece truly belongs: it slides the piece home and flashes the squares, until you take over.
FINISHING WITHOUT TAKING ANYTHING BACK
A silhouette filled without picking up a single piece is a perfect, and it pays in coins. A perfect does not say "I finished", it says "I saw the cut".
A NOTEBOOK WRITTEN BY TWO
You wake up on a beach not knowing your name. The notebook gains a page at every stage: what you see, in your own hand, and underneath the answer from ORA, who already knows where you are and will not say so yet. A story that moves forward as the silhouettes fill up.
THE ISLAND SLEEPS UNDER FOG
The map is covered. A finished level pushes a piece of it back, and the map decides which silhouette comes next. Chests, keys, dead ends.
COINS ARE EARNED ELSEWHERE
Between levels the island offers something else: short mini-games — find the pair, follow the right card, count what goes past — that pay in coins. And a daily challenge, with a brand new level every day. Nothing forces you to buy them.
• Ten silhouettes: raft, bottle, star, crab, sailboat, lantern, shell, wave, compass, chequerboard
• 224 levels, from three to twenty-five pieces, solvable by construction
• Nothing is final: take pieces back and move them as often as you like
• Undo and restart are free; the hint shows the real place
• A brand new level every day in the daily challenge, and mini-games that pay
• Offline: nothing to download, no Wi-Fi needed
• Thirty-eight languages, and a map that loses its fog
The first drawing is a raft. Three pieces in it, and one way to arrange them.
Every piece is there from the start. Fill the drawing, take back, move again.
