About this app

The commentary "Fath al-Qadir," a work combining the methods of narration and critical analysis in the science of exegesis, by Imam Muhammad ibn Ali al-Shawkani (d. 1250 AH), is a foundational text in exegesis and a primary reference. It combines narration and critical analysis, with the author excelling in the former and expanding upon the latter.

Narration: He relied on hadiths and narrations, primarily using al-Suyuti's "al-Durr al-Manthur."

Criticism: He paid meticulous attention to language, drawing upon Ibn al-Anbari's "al-Zahir" and al-Azhari's "Tahdhib al-Lughah." He also addressed rhetoric, eloquence, and the correct and variant readings of the Quran. In matters of jurisprudence, he drew heavily on al-Qurtubi's commentary.

Two points of criticism can be leveled against "Fath al-Qadir":

First: His interpretation of many divine attributes, such as the Face, Coming, Anger, and Love, which should be understood in a manner befitting God, without specifying their modality or likening them to anything else. The second point is his application of the verses concerning children imitating their fathers in polytheism and disbelief to those who blindly follow the schools of thought, and the implications of this are obvious.

This application of Al-Shawkani's interpretation is distinguished from others by several features:

The book is complete and matches the printed version.

A complete index of all chapters of the Holy Quran.

A fast and accurate search across all chapters of the book, displaying all results for the search term.

Separate searches within each chapter of the interpretation.

A night mode for eye comfort while reading.

Automatic saving of the last read page and return to it.

Offline functionality.

A simple and user-friendly interface.

A very small application size.

Fast and smooth performance on all devices.

Large, clear font in the comprehensive format with the ability to copy the text.

The Quranic verses are highlighted in a different color than the commentary.

The Prophetic hadiths are highlighted in a different color than the text and verses.
