Hearoes is an interactive auditory training platform for those with Cochlear Implants, Hearing aids, and hearing loss to help familiarise different environmental sounds, and vocabulary and improve auditory feedback and aural training.

We're collaborated with audiologists and speech pathologists at hospitals to help bring engaging interactive auditory training for hearing loss recipients at different stages of their hearing journey, to help them hear new sounds and confidence today.

It combines proven assessments used in rehabilitation sessions and on-going training with gamified activities and interactions to create an aesthetically engaging and user-centric experience for recipients. Hearoes helps this critical stage of on-going training become less of a chore for those with hearing aids, cochlear implants, and hearing loss.

It features dynamic pathways covering 5 key proven modules and 50+ fun activities focused on learning a specific part in the hearing journey of new sounds.

Some of the key modules featured in Hearoes are:

- Environmental Sounds: Combination of daily sounds, such as in the kitchen, rural and farm, and music. Immerse yourself in different environments and hear the sounds around the theme.

Introduction to Words: Learning pitches and syllables around words.

Vowels and Consonants: Helping to be familiar with sounds of vowels and consonants in initial and final position.

Understanding Sentences: Progressive narratives in common day scenes. Ranging from video clips (for lip-reading) to audio with background noise to help learn in a comfortable notion.

We also have a feedback option built-in and would love to hear your thoughts, so we can continue to build a great product to help those with hearing loss feel comfortable in different environments.

Ratings and reviews

The idea is great, but .. I recently got implants so this WAS helping. However, there tends to be some issues where replaying sounds do not give the same sound. Environmental sounds in the city, I hit replay because I didn't understand the train sound, but it gave me motorcycle instead, which was a previous answer. Section 2 of module 1, all activities have this. Even replaying first sound will give a different sound. Sometimes the wrong sound plays with the image not present as a choice.

Can't really use the app. It keeps reverting to a British accent. I change it and it goes back. I have a new cochlear implant, so I can barely distinguish between sounds. The only way I know that it switches is because I look in between activities. Another issue (though very minor) is the design decision to slow down everything you do with unnecessary count downs and long animated score counts.

Update: I want to change my rating to 5 stars. This is for how customer obsessed the developer is. They pursued the issue I was facing and ensured that it was resolved. I am able to install the app now. More power to your ilk. Thank you. Not installing on Android 12. I click install and it downloads for some time and then again the "install" button shows up. I did this multiple times. Play store also threw an error that it is unable to install the app.

- Introducing more minimal pair words across vowels & consonants activities.
- Patching a bug with a sound in environmental activity.
- Further optimizations, internal tweaks & polished some rough edges throughout the activities and the app experience overall.
