MotorPitchAnalyzer is an app for measuring small motor rotation speed in real-time.
Just bring the motor close to your smartphone's microphone for easy measurement!
You can improve accuracy by narrowing the measurement range.
The app shows the motor's maximum rotation speed based on stable rotation and frequency intensity.
You can also quickly check for shaft runout and brush conditions by viewing the motor sound waveform in real-time (※ for rough guidance).
Please measure in a quiet place for accurate results.

I'm glad I found this! I was watching my laundry tumble in a front loading washer and thought, "I wonder if there's an app to find out the RPM of that drum." Turns out, I can get the approximate RPM of the motor from sound! That's awesome! As an electrician, I'll be sure to exhaust all the possibilities of usefulness this app has! Thanks to you! ...Crazy side note... it picked up my heartbeat and ticking wall clock in an otherwise silent room!

Was able to determine rpm of electric motors I tested this far. However it does not do well at a distance and need to be within 1 m of object being tested. ai found it mainly depends on quality of your phones microphone. I used several other apps to find rpm on things no luck. this app had done simple RPM analysis medium volume and up.

i have tried everything. the latest update does not work anymore. 07/12/25. the latest update still doesnt work. i have again revetted to version 1.13. that still works.
