About this game

Blockscape is a falling-block puzzle for people who would rather unwind than be hurried.

Coloured pieces come down a wide, uncluttered well. Turn them, slide them, and complete a row to clear it. That is the whole game. Behind it, a quiet garden drifts slowly past — lakes and a moored boat, an orchard, a windmill turning, clouds crossing a spring sky. Nothing in it is trying to get your attention.

EASY ON THE EYES

• Big, high-contrast blocks and large lettering on every screen
• Large buttons — nothing small or fiddly to hit
• Seven block colours, each a different brightness, so no two pieces look alike
• A soft outline shows exactly where the piece will land before you drop it

If small, cluttered puzzle games are a strain to read, this one was made for you.

ONE THUMB, FOUR MOVES

• Drag sideways and the piece follows your finger
• Tap the left or right side of the board to turn it
• Press and hold to bring it down faster
• Flick downwards to drop it straight away

Tap the HOLD box to set a piece aside and save it for the right moment.

FIVE WAYS TO PLAY

• Zen — never ends, nothing to lose. The stack simply melts away.
• Journey — a journey through six gardens
• Marathon — clear 150 lines
• Sprint — clear 40 lines as quickly as you can
• Ultra — score as much as you can in three minutes

Every one of them plays at Relaxed, Standard or Swift, so you set the pace rather than the game setting it for you. Zen at Relaxed is where a first game starts.

A SHORT LESSON, IF YOU WANT ONE

A friendly six-step guide points out each control on a practice board where nothing is counted and nothing can go wrong. It appears once, and you can replay it any time from HOW TO PLAY.

CALM ON PURPOSE

There is no red GAME OVER and no buzzer. When a run ends, the stack drifts apart into the scenery, the camera keeps moving, and a card slides up with your score. Starting again takes one tap.
