I wanted to love this, but as others have mentioned, there are often gaps in the sound where the sound completely stops. These pauses are highly jarring. This is unfortunate since the website is pretty much perfect. I wouldn't care if this was a free app, but this is the most I've spent on an app. (OK it's only $4, but that's still more than I've spent on any app)
Really bad Ufortutately it does not work as well as web site variant. Changes between rain sound patterns are too apparent sometime with big gap of silence, it does not sound natural. Sometime sound is distorted like a damaged CD. Sleep timer often does not work at all.
Favorite sleep app no longer works :( I used to give this a five star rating, but don't get this if you have a Nexus 5. The sounds cut out constantly and then eventually just stop. I've had to go back to using the website, which is disappointing after buying the app on launch day and having no issues with it on other phones.
Rarely works on KitKat I have used the Rainy Mood website for years for helping me sleep, study, and write. As soon as I got my Nexus 5 I saw that there was a version on the Play store and bought it without hesitation - this was a huge mistake. From what I can gather the app does not work on KitKat based devices for more than a few seconds before the sound will cut out completely and won't work again until you restart the device. I have tried contacting the developer through the app and on Twitter and have heard nothing back.
More options please As far as apps go, this is pretty expensive, especially considering how basic the app is. I appreciate that Rainy Mood is free, so decided to pay for the app. However the audio could be more stable - I want to listen to rain, not near silence, even if that gives the impression of rain easing for periods of time. Also, I would like more timer sleep options. Overall though, the fact it can play music as well and seems reliable makes me glad to have it.
Not sure why I had high expectations for this app. The price is way above what you are getting. The rain has a weird staccato in the background which is really annnoying (for me) and makes it difficult to sleep. If you are looking for a good app to fall alseep to, try "Chell In The Rain" it has WAY more features comes with a song to top it .
