HOW IT WORKS — LOCAL VPN (please read)
Freezer uses Android's VpnService to create a LOCAL, on-device VPN. This is the core feature and the only way an app can block another app's network access without root. Important:
• The VPN runs entirely on your device. It does NOT connect to any external or remote VPN server.
• No traffic is routed off your device. Packets from frozen apps simply enter a local tunnel and are dropped.
• Freezer does NOT read, log, collect, store, or transmit your network traffic, browsing, or any personal data.
• Only apps you choose to freeze are affected. Everything else bypasses the VPN.
• You grant the VPN permission via Android's standard dialog and can revoke it anytime in Android Settings.

GOOD TO KNOW
• Android allows one VPN at a time, so Freezer can't run alongside another VPN app.
• A frozen app can still open and show what it saved earlier — it just can't go online.

PERMISSIONS
• VPN (VpnService): required to block frozen apps' network access (local only).
• Notification access: to silence notifications from frozen apps.
• Usage access (optional): only for auto-freeze, and for Game Mode to tell when your game is open.
• Do Not Disturb access (optional): only for Game Mode, to silence notifications while you play and restore your setting afterwards.

PRIVACY
Your privacy is the whole point: everything stays on your device. Freezer has no backend, no account, no cloud sync, and no ads. Nothing about your usage is collected.
