About this app

WaClean finds the multimedia that WhatsApp accumulates in your phone's storage and lets you precisely delete it, showing you exactly what you're deleting before you delete it.

CHATS REMAIN UNMODIFIED

WaClean removes files from storage. It doesn't read, alter, or delete messages from any conversation. That's the only thing it does and the only thing it doesn't do.

SEPARATES RECEIVED AND SENT MAIL

Photos you receive take up the same amount of space as those you send, but they're not worth the same. WaClean displays them in separate tabs, so you can clear your received files without affecting what you sent.

NINE CATEGORIES, WITH THEIR ACTUAL SIZE

Images, videos, voice notes, video notes, audio, documents, stickers, GIFs, and statuses. Each category shows the number of files it contains and their size, sortable by size to tackle the largest files first.

SEE WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO DELETE

Thumbnails of everything, playback of voice notes and videos, and full-screen preview. No need to choose from a list of file names.

NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE

WaClean doesn't request internet access. This isn't a promise: without this permission, Android prevents the app from opening network connections. No analytics, no crash reports, no account, and no logging.

To manage your files, it doesn't ask for any permissions: you choose a folder, and WaClean works within it; it doesn't go beyond that. The only exception is notification alerts, and only if you manually activate the weekly reminder in Settings—that alert doesn't include any of your data and doesn't leave your phone.

ALWAYS ASK BEFORE DELETING

Each deletion is confirmed by indicating how many files are being deleted and how much space is being freed. This confirmation cannot be disabled because the deletion is permanent: there is no trash can or undo function, and offering them would be misleading.

WHAT WACLEAN DOESN'T DO

It doesn't promise to speed up your phone. It doesn't display alarming alerts urging you to tap without reading. It doesn't delete anything on its own or schedule automatic cleanups. It has no ads or in-app purchases.

Keep in mind that WaClean only displays the media you may want to keep or delete. It intentionally ignores WhatsApp's internal files—caches, profile pictures, wallpapers—so it will report less space than a file explorer. This is intentional: these are files the app needs.

It requires Android 11 or higher. It follows your device's language, either Spanish or English.
