About this app

Big Ears is a four-day celebration of musical and artistic adventure and discovery, transforming downtown Knoxville, TN into an immersive playground for the senses. From March 26–29, 2026, attendees will experience nearly 250 performances, films, conversations, literary events, and art installations across 20 diverse venues—historic theaters, resonant churches, intimate clubs, and vibrant galleries.

The Big Ears app is your companion to this extraordinary weekend. It puts the entire festival in your pocket, helping you make the most of every moment. Designed to capture the spirit of Big Ears—spontaneous, adventurous, and deeply connective—the app ensures you won’t miss a beat. Whether you’re plotting out every detail of your day or wandering from one discovery to the next, the Big Ears app gives you the tools to navigate, explore, and fully immerse yourself in one of the world’s most unique festival experiences.

EDIT: ok, 2024, let's see how this goes: 1. Back navigation doesn't go "back" rather resets to home screen, especially when starting at the Lineups listing of artists. Yaaay. 2. This doesn't work: lineup -> artist -> duet performance -> click on one of two artists at bottom -> click on event -> nothing happens (wouldn't be a problem if #1 worked) 3. Ditto: search for artist -> performance -> nothing (wouldn't be a problem if #1 worked) 4. News stories stopped updating 5. No event type = film
