on the fence with some not great reviews, went for it and I'm glad I did. What an awesome tour guide! We made several side quests that we couldn't have done in a group. We are foodies so frequent food stops were necessary. The app was awesome! I highly recommend it! Took us about 4-5hrs with the side quests. had one earbud for each of us to use. Used about 25% battery but we didn't use the map. Phone was in my pocket and we just went where it told us to.

I’m delighted our app’s stories enhanced your Freedom Trail walk! Love that you made side quests — that’s exactly how it’s meant to be used. If you enjoyed Boston’s history, check out our other nearby tours — plenty more to explore! 🇺🇸

Seems like this might be fine if you bring a huge battery pack and/or rush through all the sites, but the app is written poorly and a huge battery hog. Seems to me the use of location is all wrong and it's just constantly polling the location: we didn't even get through 2 stops before it completely drained my battery pack. I couldn't get the app to work with location turned off entirely, but it seems to work to a degree with precise location disabled. The Mandarin translation is also lacking

I’m sorry to hear that! This may be related to the Android beta version—please share your device model and Android version at support@actiontourguide.com so we can investigate. I’ll also pass your Mandarin translation feedback to the team.

I really enjoyed this self-tour. It's automated, but you can also control it. You can pause, stop or replay the differnet audio spots. We listened to the audio for some of the stops we skipped via Uber. Each audio clip is thorough yet short. It keeps you moving at a good pace. The narrator was really good and mixed in a little humor. It was nice to not have to wait on a big tour group at each stop. We could go as fast or slow as we wanted. It follows you on the map and shows you where to go.
