Burner allows me to sign up for coupons and spam-producing mailing lists while keeping my actual phone number safe, though Burner doesn't ALWAYS work or receive 2FA texts. I have also used it when giving a phone number to strangers when I wasn't sure about them yet. it also makes it easier to test text-messaging capabilities on the apps I am developing.

I don't know what happened, this app used to be solid. now a days, in-app calling is pretty buggy. sometimes not able to pick up calls because button is not responsive, if the call is not dropped entirely before it rings. trying to hear voicemail is a real challenge, either the voicemail does not load, or it loads until the 5th try. then playing it through the speaker is another ordeal... I have been a long time user, and this is the worst experience I've had with this app ever.

10-3-24 Crash fixed! I just received a notice that my minutes were low so I selected "Extend" as Ive done the past four years. However it no longer offers you the prepaid pricing but only offers "subscription" This is a very sneaky way to try and force people to subscribe. Pissed!!!! I emailed Burner and they said they no longer offer prepaid pricing. I was correct that you are now forced to subscribe! They knew this when they responded to my review, they just dont want to publichly state it.
