Malnyang is an app that displays fine dust, ultrafine dust, and the weather using cat expressions and a home widget. Check the current air conditions before getting ready for work or school, or before going for a walk.
Fine Dust and Ultrafine Dust Together
It shows the concentration, units, and status of fine dust (PM10) and ultrafine dust (PM2.5) together. Examine the air conditions through Malnyang's expressions and check the detailed figures. The large AQI number is the Air Quality Index and is distinct from the PM concentration unit, μg/m³.
Widget for Direct Check on the Home Screen
Add the Malnyang widget to your Android home screen to check air conditions and temperature even before opening the app. Tapping the widget opens the app, and you can check the information again within the app using the paw refresh button. Please adjust the widget width to fit your device and launcher.
Check the Weather Before Going Out
Check the current temperature and the Korea Meteorological Administration's hourly temperature, precipitation probability, and sky conditions. Weather forecasts display only the actual provided date and time. Air Korea's daily fine dust forecast shows the announced PM10 and PM2.5 grades for each region and differs from hourly concentration predictions.
Select Region Without Location Permissions
You can directly select the location you want to check from the list of regions provided in the app. Information for regions in South Korea is provided in Korean.
User Guide
Currently, fine dust information uses data from the Korea Environment Corporation's Air Korea, and weather data uses data from the Korea Meteorological Administration. An internet connection is required to receive new information. Updates to information and widgets may be delayed due to the update time lag of the providers and Android power saving settings. Please check both the update time on the screen and the forecast release time.
If the connection is lost, an offline saved value indicator may be attached to the last normal value. Ambient air quality is not the result of direct indoor air measurements. Lifestyle guides are general reference information and do not replace medical diagnosis or treatment. Please consider your surroundings and personal circumstances when ventilating or engaging in outdoor activities.
