From March 24, 2022, the SmartBank service will be phased out in the retail clientele and will be replaced with the new OTP Bank Mobile Application. You can read about the details on www.otpbank.hu.

OTP SmartBank

To use SmartBank, you need to register in the application, which requires your internetbank identifier and a 6-8 digit PIN code. The PIN code can be substituted by a fingerprint if the device is capable. To finish the registration, providing an SMS code is necessary.

Ratings and reviews

Too many issues for a banking app: Number input fields are hard to use. Changing limit failed 4 times in a row with an error, but 23Ft was deducted each time. You can issue transfers after hours without having to sign. After hours transfer becomes pending successfully, but the message on the next screen seems like an error. The app is half english half hungarian. This is what I found after a week of use. I'm sure there's many more.

From my previous review I have given this app one more star as it has gotten easier and more logical to use. I think transferring money between your own accounts should be easier. Now you have to actually enter the account number of you own OTP account. I also think there must be a better way to sign up for the app as you have to remember a password you used a few years ago everytime you change phones and have to go to the bank to reset. Overall though, good clean app

I have experienced a bug and when I contacted customer service they told me that probably my internet provider or router has an issue. I got this error: "Communication error! The selected WIFI network is inadequate for using SmartBank." However, I was on MOBILE data. NO WIFI involved. Still, the customer service was sure about me having problems with my internet provider... 😅 (I had 4G and maximum signal) It would be much better, if there would be a direct contact to the developers...
