About this app

Compress Video makes large videos small enough to share, send or store, right on your phone. Nothing is uploaded: every video is compressed on the device, so it stays private.

CHOOSE HOW SMALL
• Target size: pick Smaller, Balanced or Better, or set an exact size in MB. Compress Video works out what each video can reach and tells you when it can't go any smaller.
• Quality: set a quality level and let the file size follow. Simple footage such as screen recordings usually comes out far smaller than the estimate.
• See the estimated size, and how long compression will take, before you start.

THREE COMPRESSION LEVELS
• Normal: fastest, and plays on any device.
• Advanced: smaller files at the same quality, and plays on most devices.
• Ultra: the smallest files. Much slower, and for phones with 6 GB of memory or more.

MADE FOR BIG VIDEOS
• Handles long recordings and large files, including 4K.
• Keep the original resolution or choose 1440p, 1080p, 720p or 480p. Videos are never upscaled.
• Keep or remove the audio track.
• Compression keeps running when you leave the app, with a progress notification and a Cancel button.
• HDR videos are converted so they look right on every screen.

SAVE AND SHARE
• Saved videos appear in your gallery right away, in Movies/Compressed by default.
• Choose any save folder in Settings, including an SD card or a cloud drive.
• Share straight to other apps, or share a video from another app into Compress Video.
• Your original video is never changed.

FREE, WITH AN OPTION TO REMOVE ADS
Compress Video is free and shows ads, which pay for its updates and maintenance. Ultra compression is unlocked by watching a short ad. A one-time purchase removes all ads for good, and can be restored on a new phone.
