Every 15 seconds a person over 65 falls in France, which represents 2 million falls per year. This causes 10,000 deaths, 130,000 hospitalizations, with a significant cost to the community of €2 billion/year.
Age Impulse responds to this major societal challenge for the prevention of falls with an innovative, patented solution, the result of cutting-edge French research in Biomechanics, Physiology, IoT, Signal Processing & AI.
It makes the results of scientific studies accessible to all, including a prospective, multicenter, 2+ years, on 500 seniors, published in a high-ranking, peer-reviewed journal.
Today it is possible to carry out fall risk assessments with qualified personnel, who are not very available, with assessments that take time, subjective results and waiting times.
The Gaitwin solution is distinguished by a robust evaluation, high reliability, ease and speed of use, without qualified personnel, allowing guidance towards a care pathway, guided and fun rehabilitation, as well as strengthening of the autonomy while protecting data in a HDS certified sovereign cloud.
The solution consists of a miniaturized, patented sensor, which:
• Assesses the risk of falling in 15 seconds of walking.
• Identifies failing markers and their custom thresholds
The sensor is connected to a mobile application which:
• Starts the test and visualizes the results in an ergonomic way
• Encourages people to join a care pathway
• Guides the work of professionals
• Makes rehabilitation fun and objective progress
• Offers solutions to strengthen autonomy
The solution also offers valuable support for professionals by providing them with an advanced web tool, with a dashboard to analyze data and trends, display priorities and help take the right actions.
The Gaitwin solution from Age Impulse has obtained numerous prizes and distinctions: 1st prize from the Gérontopôle de Normandie for the call for solutions Prevention of the risk of falling in partnership with the ADMR du Calvados, 2024 jury prize from the Bourse Territoriale de l 'Innovation, awarded by the director of a CNRS delegation, Île-de-France, Finalist of the 2024 SNITEM competition, admitted to the La FrenchTech Pavilion of CES 2024, member of the French IoT community of Groupe la Poste, selected by the OVHcloud Startup program.
