AgePony is a private, offline file encryption app built on age — the simple, modern encryption standard trusted by developers and security-minded people everywhere. Encrypt files, text, and notes right on your device. No account, no cloud, no tracking.
Lock down a document before you send it, paste an encrypted block into a chat or email, or keep private notes that only your passphrase can open. AgePony does it all with real age encryption, so anything you encrypt here can be decrypted with the age command-line tool or any compatible app — and anything encrypted elsewhere with age opens right here.
WHAT YOU CAN DO

Encrypt and decrypt files — documents, photos, PDFs, archives, or any file type — and save the result wherever you like.
Encrypt and decrypt text, with clean ASCII-armored output that's safe to paste into email, chat, or a forum post.
Keep encrypted notes, each protected by its own passphrase.
Generate your own age identity (X25519) and share your public key so others can encrypt files to you.
Add recipients by pasting an age or SSH public key, fetching someone's public keys from their GitHub username, or scanning a QR code.
Encrypt to SSH keys too (ed25519 and RSA) — useful if you already manage keys for servers or Git.
Protect with a passphrase instead of a key when that's simpler, using scrypt at the age standard work factor.

Bitdefender says AgePony is a malicious app, if I download it from F-droid or Github! Both app is malicious according to Bitdefender!

- Proxy for the GitHub key fetch: Off, Orbot (Tor), or a custom SOCKS5/HTTP proxy, in Settings > Network. Optional credentials give Tor stream isolation. Off by default.
- Encrypt to YubiKey (age-plugin-yubikey) recipients.
- Configurable auto-lock delay after leaving the app.
- Recently deleted: restore an accidental identity or recipient delete.
- Key avatars, and in-app Help, Security, and Licenses.
- Passphrase fields on Decrypt, Text, and Migrate are now hidden.
