About this app

Famloop keeps families connected with location sharing that is honest about what it actually knows.

CONSENT FIRST
Everyone in a Loop opts in, and anyone can pause sharing at any time — for one Loop or all of them. There is no hidden or silent tracking, and no one is added without accepting an invitation.

SIGNAL HONESTY
Most family locators show a pin and let you assume it is live. Famloop shows every member's signal freshness alongside their location, so a twenty-minute-old position is never presented as current. If a phone goes quiet, you see that it went quiet.

SAFE ARRIVAL TIMERS
Set "home by 10:30". If the check-in is missed, the Loop is alerted automatically. Good for a late commute, a first solo trip, or a long drive.

PLACES AND ALERTS
Save the places that matter — home, school, work, a grandparent's house — and get arrival and departure alerts for the people you choose.

WHEN IT MATTERS
• SOS sends an alert with your location to your Loop
• Built-in chat and direct messages, so the conversation stays with the context
• Location history, so you can see where someone has been
• Share a live session when someone wants to be followed on a journey

LOCATION IN THE BACKGROUND
Famloop collects location data to share your position with the Loops you have joined, to trigger the arrival and departure alerts you set up, and to run Safe Arrival Timers. This happens in the background, including when the app is closed or not in use, because a family locator that only works while the app is open cannot do any of those things. You control it: pause sharing whenever you like, per Loop or everywhere, and revoke the permission in Android settings at any time.

FREE
1 Loop, up to 3 members, 2 saved Places, 1 active Timer and 2 days of history.

PREMIUM FAMILY
One purchase covers everyone in your Loop — there is no per-seat charge.
• Up to 5 Loops and 10 members
• 50 saved Places with arrival and departure alerts
• 20 Safe Arrival Timers
• A full year of location history
• Priority alerts when a phone goes quiet

Premium Family is an auto-renewing subscription available monthly or yearly. Prices are shown in your local currency before you buy. Your subscription renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. Cancelling keeps the free plan working — nothing is deleted.

What’s new

Chat now matches iPhone: your messages sit on the right, direct messages have a back button, and the send button sits inside the message bar. Replies sent before a chat was first opened now arrive on both phones. New: location History on the member card, and a Change covered Loop picker. Signal Check, Live Tracking and timer screens use the iPhone-style header. The PIN screen now works in landscape. Small maps no longer show shops and transit icons.
