ZeroAds: Safe DNS for Family

About this app

Phishing sites, adult content, tracking domains — what your phone loads
depends on who answers its DNS. ZeroAds points your whole device at an
encrypted resolver you choose, and that resolver decides what it will and
won't answer.

One tap. Every app and browser. No per-app setup, no extension.

CHOOSE YOUR RESOLVER

Included free:

• Security — Quad9 9.9.9.9. A non-profit resolver that publishes 9.9.9.9 as
declining to resolve domains on its published threat list.

With ZeroAds Pro, free for 7 days:

• Family — AdGuard DNS (Family). AdGuard publishes this endpoint as declining
advertising and tracking domains as well as adult-content domains.
• Privacy — AdGuard DNS (Default). AdGuard publishes this endpoint as
declining advertising and tracking domains.
• Malware Only — Cloudflare 1.1.1.2. Cloudflare publishes 1.1.1.2 as declining
domains on its own flagged-domain list.
• Full statistics history — daily, weekly, monthly and lifetime.

Each of these is operated by its own provider, not by us. ZeroAds shows you
which one is answering your queries, quotes what that provider publishes about
it, and links their privacy policy inside the app so you can read it before
you trust it.

HOW IT WORKS

ZeroAds uses Android's VPN interface for exactly one purpose: to receive your
device's DNS queries and forward them to the resolver you selected. It is not
a proxy and not a remote VPN.

• No traffic is routed through any server we operate
• Your IP address is unchanged
• ZeroAds does not inspect, filter or block anything itself — it holds no
blocklist and never reads the domain you asked for
• The resolver you chose decides what it will and will not answer

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

• No ZeroAds server sits in the path. We run no resolver and keep no logs.
• Queries travel over DNS-over-HTTPS, so your network operator and anyone
else on your Wi-Fi cannot read them.
• No account required. No advertising ID. No cross-app identifier.
• Switching ZeroAds off restores your device's normal DNS completely.

WHAT YOU SEE

• A live count of the names your resolver declined to answer
• Today's activity free; daily, weekly, monthly and lifetime history with Pro
• An activity feed of connections, disconnections and resolver changes

ZeroAds Pro is $2.99/month, $19.99/year with a 7-day free trial, or $39.99
once. Cancel any time in Google Play.

AdGuard, Cloudflare and Quad9 are independent public DNS services, each
operated by its own provider. ZeroAds is not affiliated with, sponsored by or
endorsed by any of them, and simply lets you point your device at the public
resolver of your choice. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Ratings and reviews

I love this app as it as you can use it for free for just an ad blocker, which it works really well but you can spend a little money to get the extra stuff like malware protection, I generally just love this app, I recommend it!

can't tell if the app works or not. you have to manually turn it on every time you want to use it. there is no permission to open by default. whenever you turn phone back on you must restart app. cancelling.

stopped blocking my ads which is infuriating as it was the one app i thought would work.

What’s new

Fixes a crash that could prevent the app from opening. Improves connection reliability and blocked-request counting. Security (Quad9) is the free resolver; Privacy, Malware Only and Family are included with Pro, with a 7-day free trial.
