Every step you take is a step along a road through a fantasy world.

Lord of the Steps is a fantasy pedometer that turns your daily walking into an epic 2,865 km journey: from a cozy hole in the green hills all the way to the Fire Mountain, where the road ends in flame.

HOW IT WORKS

The app counts your real steps via Samsung Health, Health Connect, or your phone's built-in pedometer. Every kilometer you walk advances you along a route through 18 waypoints: forest roads, mountain passes, river crossings, ancient ruins and the lands beyond them.

The landscape around you changes — 50 unique zones with scenic backgrounds reflect your real progress. You literally see the world transform with every step.

FEATURES

• Step counter with auto-sync — counts steps in the background, even when the app is closed
• Map of the world — the whole route is drawn on the map, and your current position is marked on it
• 18 route milestones — from the green hills to the Fire Mountain
• 50 landscape zones — the app background changes as you progress
• Daily step goal — you set the goal yourself and watch the ring fill during the day
• Streak — a count of consecutive days when the daily goal is met, with a calendar of the whole run
• Groups — walk together with friends and follow everyone's progress; the group map shows where each member is on the route
• Challenges — compete with friends: who walks the most in a week, who hits the step or distance goal first
• Home screen widget — steps, kilometers, and route progress right on your home screen
• Achievement cards — save your progress as a picture with the landscape you are walking through and send it to friends
• Notifications — a new milestone, a new landscape zone, and a reminder if you haven't walked in a while
• Statistics — step charts for the week, month, and all time

PREMIUM

The route, the groups, the challenges and the streak are free for everyone. An optional Premium subscription adds an adaptive daily goal that the app picks for you from your recent weeks, and an export of your step history to a spreadsheet. It also supports the development of the app.

Ratings and reviews

They're aware of steps not all counting due to how the apps communicate and acknowledged it, so that's good enough for me. the app itself is very cool. Hopefully that can get sorted one day to count all steps from Samsung Health.

Beautiful app and the only step counter that actually makes me want to get my arse up and go for a walk.

Please add a feature to the app that generates random lore-accurate names from The Lord of the Rings when a player joins a part)
