About this app

Mapplock is an app lock, photo vault and private file vault with a secret map-based entrance. Lock apps, hide private photos, protect audio and documents, and access your private space with a PIN, pattern or supported fingerprint authentication.

What makes Mapplock different

Instead of opening a private vault from an obvious screen, Mapplock lets you create a secret location on the map. Return to that map area, double tap within the saved radius, authenticate, and enter your private Dashboard.

• Create up to two independent map locks

# App Lock

Use Mapplock as an app locker for securing apps.

• Lock or unlock all apps with one tap
• Use PIN, pattern or supported fingerprint authentication
• Change the lock background to any custom photo from gallery.
• Enable fingerprint from settings for the quick authentication.

# Photo Vault and File Vault

Use the private photo vault to hide photos from your normal gallery experience and keep sensitive files protected locally.

• Hide and protect private photos
• Protect audio files and supported documents
• Encrypt supported private files locally
• Organize vault content with custom folders
• View protected photos, play protected audio and open supported documents in Mapplock itself (Video folder Coming Soon)
• Restore or permanently delete selected vault items

# Recycle Bin

Deleted vault items move to the Recycle Bin before permanent removal. Restore deleted content or permanently delete it. Items left in the Recycle Bin for 30 days are permanently removed.

# Intruder Capture

When enabled, Mapplock can take a front-camera photo after 3 repeated incorrect PIN or pattern attempts. Intruder captures remain stored locally in Intruders folder.

# Quick Helpful Interactions

• Long press on any secret place on the map at 100m level to set PIN or pattern
• Double tap in 2km radius of secret location to access Dashboard
• Swipe left the category folder to delete all or restore all data present inside that category.

# Local-First Privacy

Your vault files, authentication information, secret map locations and intruder captures are stored locally and are not uploaded to Mapplock servers.

• No Mapplock account required
• Private file contents are not sent to analytics
• Screenshot protection is available in Settings
• Core app lock and photo vault features continue to work offline (requires internet for initial setup only)

*Map tiles, place search, weather and AQI features may contact their respective online providers when used. Uncached map tiles, new place searches, weather and AQI data require an internet connection.

# Map Tools and Customization

Mapplock includes place and coordinate search, current-location support, compass controls, weather, temperature, humidity and an AQI meter. Light and dark themes, custom Dashboard backgrounds, 16 supported languages, reduced-motion guidance and built-in permission help are also available.

# Permissions

Mapplock may request Usage Access, Display over other apps, notifications, battery or manufacturer-specific background settings, location, camera, and media or file access only when needed for enabled features.

# Important (Data Backup)

While uninstalling the app, click yes on the "Keep __ MB of app data" to make a local backup.

Android Force Stop, Clear Storage and uninstall actions remain controlled by Android and the device owner. Restore or export important vault files before clearing Mapplock data or uninstalling the app because Android may remove the local encryption key together with app data.
