About this app

ReadyBeat is a simple heart rate companion for running, jogging and stationary exercise such as a treadmill, exercise bike or rowing machine. It is built around one idea: recovery.

HOW IT WORKS
• Set two heart rates: a high limit and a low limit.
• When your heart rate reaches the high limit, ReadyBeat says "Slow down", so you can ease off or take a rest.
• As soon as your heart rate comes back down to the low limit, it says "You are ready".
• Every recovery is recorded: the time from your peak heart rate back down to the low limit. In History you can see how your recovery times change over the weeks.

LOOKING FOR A FULL-FEATURED HEART RATE APP?
If you want heart rate zones, training plans, route maps, detailed charts or syncing with other services, there are many excellent apps on Google Play that do all of this very well. ReadyBeat deliberately stays small. It concentrates on the recovery phase and tries to do that one thing reliably.

FEATURES
• Works with the screen off and the phone in your pocket. Voice alerts keep coming while your music plays (the music is briefly lowered).
• Stationary mode: heart rate alerts and recovery times.
• Run mode: GPS distance and time, with optional voice updates every 0.5 km or 1 km (distance, time and current heart rate).
• Suggest limits: enter your year of birth and measure your resting heart rate with your strap, and ReadyBeat proposes limits using the Karvonen (heart rate reserve) method. You can always set your own.
• Music links: save your favourite YouTube or YouTube Music playlists with Share → ReadyBeat. When you press Start, the chosen playlist opens in its app.
• History of every workout: duration, distance, average and maximum heart rate, and each recovery with its peak heart rate and recovery time.
• Reconnects to your heart rate sensor automatically, and tells you if the sensor disconnects during a workout.

WHAT YOU NEED
• A Bluetooth heart rate sensor that supports the standard Bluetooth Heart Rate profile. Most chest straps do, and some watches and armbands can broadcast heart rate.
• Android 8.0 or later.

YOUR PRIVACY
• No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
• Your workouts, heart rate and GPS data are stored only on your phone and are never uploaded.

HEALTH NOTICE
ReadyBeat is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease or medical condition. Heart rate readings and voice alerts are a training aid only. Please consult a doctor before starting a new exercise programme and before choosing your limits, especially if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure or take medication that affects your heart rate. Stop exercising and seek medical help if you feel chest pain, dizziness or unusual shortness of breath.
