Stitchy turns any picture into a cross-stitch pattern and walks you from the first stitch to the finished piece.
There is nothing to learn: pick a photo, get a pattern — and a couple of minutes later you can make the first stitch. Inside there is only what stitching actually needs: a clear, pleasant interface with no complicated settings and no clutter. It fits seasoned stitchers and complete beginners alike.
Everything happens right on your device — phone or tablet: the pattern is built and stitched offline, an account is optional, and there are no ads.
A PHOTO BECOMES A PATTERN
• A camera shot or a picture from the gallery
• Cropping: free or by ratio, rotation and mirroring
• Finished size in centimetres or in stitches, proportions kept
• Aida count from 8 to 20 — the app suggests how many strands to use
• From 2 to 120 colours: you decide where the balance between likeness and the number of skeins is
• Smoothness: a slider removes the hard steps between shades, with in-between threads picked from the same palette
• Blends: two threads of different shades in one needle — even softer transitions, and not a single extra skein
• One tap drops the plain background around the edges — only the subject gets stitched
• Single stitches can be dropped, so you never rethread the needle for one cell
TRUE-TO-LIFE COLOUR MATCHING
• Real manufacturer palettes: DMC, Gamma, Anchor and Madeira
• Thread colour is matched the way the eye sees it, not by the numbers in the pixels
• The finished pattern comes with its table: symbol, colour, number, name and cells
STITCHING MODE
• A symbol chart with smooth zooming and panning
• A tap marks a stitch, progress is saved automatically
• Brush mode: run a finger across the chart and the stitches of the current colour are marked along the way
• A tap on a cell of another colour switches to that colour — no need to look for it in the palette
• Search a thread by number or name, sort the palette by stitch count or by colour code
• Pick a thread and the chart flies to the nearest unstitched cell of that colour
• A centre mark like on printed charts, and a mini-map of the whole piece in any corner of the screen
• The screen stays awake while stitching mode is open
• On a tablet the chart and the palette sit side by side
PROGRESS YOU CAN SEE
• Overall percentage and the number of stitches placed
• Progress for every colour separately
• Start date, time spent stitching and the total number of days
THREAD LIST
• How many skeins of each colour the piece needs — fabric count, strands and a margin for securing the thread taken in
• "Bought" marks and a "Hide bought" switch
• Total thread length and the total number of skeins, with the calculation spelled out
YOUR WORKS
• A gallery of your works
• Stats: finished works, stitches placed, time spent stitching
• Finished a piece? Share it straight from the app: four picture styles, from a mounted view to a card with the numbers
• Settings: Russian or English, centimetres or stitches, default floss manufacturer
• Signing in with e-mail is optional: your works sync across your own devices and come back after a phone change, and progress stitched on a phone and a tablet is merged
• An FAQ right inside the app, a support e-mail one tap away and a Telegram community
PRIVACY BY DEFAULT
The photo is processed on your device and never leaves it — only the finished pattern stays in the work. Without an account all data stays on the device; only anonymised statistics of how the app is used are collected, with no photos and no patterns. Data and account are deleted right in the settings.
Stitchy is made by a stitcher for stitchers — so that cross-stitch stays easy and enjoyable.
