It's free, it's great! Avoid ads by watching one (stupid and horribly outdated) ad when you start it up (that you can skip), then you can watch whatever you want ad free. The minimizer works too. Just put it in the background, turn off the screen and it continues to play, all ad free. I thought maybe it was malware at first, but I've never had any data stolen and my accounts they're all good. Only trouble is that it's slow to respond after using for an hour or so. Don't pay for YT Red w/this.

Not working again. Every year or so the devs have to fix it because of YouTube's workarounds. Sometimes it works and you can lock your screen, it will play effortlessly... But now is not that time.

A fix for anyone having the "video only plays a black screen issue" I've found that if I turn the adblocker function off in the settings, any video i play afterwards plays as normal but with YouTube adverts naturally. (You can turn the adblocker back on while watching the video to stop any mid video ads) (issue fixed with latest update 06/02/26 cheers 😁)
